El Valle

Description

Departing from Panama City, we journey into the lush highlands of Coclé Province, where nature and tradition come together in one of Panama’s most charming towns, nestled in the crater of an ancient volcano.

Our first stop is Finca Colibrí, a delightful private garden sanctuary known for its vibrant hummingbird population and tranquil atmosphere. Surrounded by tropical flowers and mountain views, you’ll witness dozens of hummingbirds up close.

Next, we dive into local culture with a visit to a traditional trapiche, where you’ll see how sugar cane is processed the old-fashioned way. Learn about rural Panamanian life as you watch the cane being crushed and turned into sweet juice and other traditional products. Following the demonstration, we enjoy a hearty traditional Panamanian lunch, made with fresh, local ingredients.

In the afternoon, we visit the Butterfly Haven, home to hundreds of native butterflies fluttering freely in a beautiful enclosed garden. Our final stop is the El Valle artisan market, where local crafts, handmade souvenirs, fresh produce, and indigenous art are on display. Browse at your leisure, shop for keepsakes, or simply enjoy the colorful market scene before we begin our comfortable return to Panama City.
